Before any file leaves the studio for print, we run the same preflight sweep. It is not glamorous and it has saved more jobs than any typeface we own.

The list covers the obvious: bleed, crop marks, resolution, embedded fonts, colour mode and overprint. It also covers the things that quietly ruin a print run, like whether the dieline is on its own layer and whether the black is a rich build or a flat one.

Half the checks have nothing to do with how the design looks. That is deliberate. A job rarely fails on the screen. It fails on the press.
